How to sleep in Lego Fortnite

LEGO Fortnite takes many gameplay cues from Minecraft, including the ability to build furniture like beds. Rest is, of course, a super important part of survival games, and beds function as the main way for players to sleep in Lego Fortnite mode.

How to craft a bed in Lego Fortnite

If you want to sleep in Lego Fortnite, you need a bed. This is similar to how it works in Minecraft, but you need to craft through the build menu. Access this menu by pressing the appropriate build button for your platform, such as Circle on PlayStation and B on Xbox.

Next, navigate to the furniture section, and you’ll see the bed. It’s 10 pieces of wood to craft a bed, which shouldn’t take you long to gather within a short distance of camp. Once you have enough, craft it, and then place it wherever the game allows, preferably under a sheltered area.

Can you skip night in Lego Fortnite?

Once you have a bed in Lego Fortnite, you are finally able to lie down and go to sleep. Unfortunately, there are some weird quirks with this, which you don’t normally see in other similar games. In Minecraft, for instance, one of the main purposes of sleeping in the bed is to skip the night, where monsters are more common and dangerous.

But in Fortnite, sleeping in your bed doesn’t skip the night at all. You can toss around all night — just like real life — but the passage of time progresses the same as always. This even goes for multiplayer matches where you and your party members all lay down at the same time. There is no way to skip the night in Lego mode, or at least for now.

Benefits of sleeping, explained

Since you can’t skip time by putting that bed to use, you may be wondering what the purpose of this furniture is. There are three main reasons to build a bed in this game, which starts with sleeping and recovering your health. This is the fastest way to get your health back without wasting any items, such as food.

Beds also provide a spawn point, handy if you happen to move elsewhere in your world. So, if you die in the middle of the world, you will spawn back here and not where you initially started in the server. Finally, beds can be given to visiting explorer NPCs, making them a permanent member of your village.
