Sanctuary awaits you
Diablo 4’s release date may be still a few months away, but fans at least have the open beta to look forward to. If you missed out on the closed beta early access but still want the chance to take the latest adventure in the devilish world of Sanctuary for a test run, be sure to pre-load the Diablo 4 open beta.
How to pre-load the Diablo 4 open beta
During the weekend of March 17-20, players with an early access code had the chance to be among the first in the world to try out Diablo 4 and see why it is so similar to the legendary Diablo 2. Not everyone was able to obtain a code, though, or was willing to pre-order the highly anticipated RPG without trying it out first.
Thankfully, the Diablo 4 open beta is coming up soon where everyone on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC will have the chance to try out the game—barring any major errors. While the beta is happening this weekend, time is precious and some players may want to get a leg up on downloading the game.
Thankfully, there’s a way to pre-load the Diablo 4 open beta so you can immediately play. Pre-downloading the beta is available on all platforms. For PC players, make sure to have Battle.net downloaded. From there, select Diablo 4 and you’ll see the option to download the beta.
On console, you’ll need to go through your respective platform’s store. Xbox players will need to search for the open beta version through the console Microsoft Store. On the other hand, PlayStation players will want to do the same on the PlayStation Store.
What you should know is that the pre-loading for the open beta weekend will go live before the weekend begins. Pre-loading is currently scheduled to start at 9 a.m. PT (12 p.m. ET) on Wednesday, March 22.
If you search for the beta before then, you won’t be able to find it. That window of time is nice since the open beta is around 82 GB on PC and approximately 75 GB on consoles. Thankfully, if you participated in the early access beta weekend, you won’t have to redownload the game.
Open beta schedule, explained
For those jumping into the Diablo 4 open beta, you’ll have around three days to play the game. It begins on Friday, March 24, at around 9 a.m. PT (12 p.m. ET) and ends on Monday, March 27, at approximately 12 p.m. PT (3 p.m. ET).
Players have the chance to check out the entire game all the way through to the end of Act 1. All five of the game’s classes will also be available up to level 25 each during the beta weekend.
