As part of the official announcement of Counter-Strike 2, Valve has stated that certain Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players will be given the opportunity to play a limited test of the upcoming game. Want to get in? Well, that might be outside of your control, but here are the details we have on who gets in on this limited opportunity.

To start with, you need to play CS:GO. By that, I don’t mean that you just have the game installed and pick away at it every now and then. Valve’s team chose players based on playtime within official Valve servers and their standing within the game itself. This means that your account must be in good standing, and you must not have ever been banned through VAC. If either of those don’t apply to you, you probably won’t be getting in just yet.

This means that if you’re not already a prolific player of CS:GO, you probably weren’t selected. However, if you’re not sure, you can always check. First, boot up CS:GO. If you’ve received an invitation, you’ll see the option to enroll in Counter-Strike 2 on the main screen.

Reportedly, all your skins will carry over from CS:GO. However, as of now, you’ll only be able to try Counter-Strike 2’s deathmatch and unranked competitive matchmaking on the map Dust2.

If you’ve checked and weren’t invited into Counter-Strike 2, don’t worry, there will be other waves. Even if you don’t manage to get pulled into a test, you won’t be waiting long until Counter-Strike 2 launches this summer.
