Check out the gamepad interactions in Vigil’s launch port
Planning to play Darksiders II on the Wii U but terrified that you won’t know how to play it, causing literally everybody to laugh at you? THQ has got you covered, my friend.
The publisher sent along some helpful images that showcase Darksiders II‘s various interactions and how they work on the Wii U GamePad. As you can see, the controller’s screen is used to interact with both the in-game map and menu system, as well as get an instant view of the ability hotkeys.
It’ll be interesting to see whether these additions will enhance or impede the game. I like the idea of the touchscreen in theory, but will it be a hassle to constantly look down at a handheld screen or a convenience? Could go either way, and I’m keen to find out.
In any case, I’ll applaud any game that tries to make things easier, rather than force a load of bullshit touch controls into games that don’t need it, breaking immersion for the sake of showing off. I’m looking at you, Batman!
