How to unlock the pickpocket ability in Star Ocean Second Story R

The first requirement to unlock the Pickpocketing ability is to have the Nimble Fingers talent. However, the Nimble Fingers talent is randomly assigned to your character at the beginning of the game. To check if your character possesses this talent, navigate to the Camp Menu and select the Status option. Press the button for “Switch Pages” to view all the talents your character has.

If your character does not have Nimble Fingers, you have two options: continue playing and hope to acquire it later, or restart the game until your character begins with Nimble Fingers. Once you have it, you’ll need to upgrade the skills Poker Face and Courage. These skills can be improved by accessing the Camp Menu and selecting the Improve option. Under the IC/Specialty tab, you will find Poker Face and Courage. Spend one skill point on each to enhance these skills.

The final requirement to unlock Pickpocketing is obtaining the Thief’s Glove. The Thief’s Glove can be purchased from the Antique Shop called The Sunken Vessel in Harley City. However, it comes with a substantial price tag of 40,000 Fol.

Once you have obtained all these skills and items, it’s time to activate the pickpocketing skill. To do so, access the IC/Specialties menu and enable the Pickpocketing option. After doing so, you can approach any NPC in town and press the left shoulder button (L1 button on PlayStation) to attempt to steal from them.
