How to make money fast in Brighter Shores

Let’s face it: most video game worlds revolve around money one way or another. More often than not, you need cash, coins, or other forms of currency to purchase items and upgrades for your character. Brighter Shores is no exception, requiring you to farm for money constantly.

Fortunately, despite you needing a ton of money to progress through Brighter Shores’ professions and quests, it offers numerous ways to find some quickly. You can even use a feature during the tutorial to get some quick and easy starting cash.

How to farm money during the tutorial

Our first money-making is right in Hopeport’s Training Ground barracks during the tutorial. Partway through the first main story quest, you’ll meet a character named Delana who lost her bow and needs to find it before fighting against an incoming goblin invasion. However, rather than locating the bow, you’ll first focus on the old trunks beside each bed. They’re the key to our first money-making method.

Each old trunk holds 50 to 300 copper coins. I usually find between 60 and 100, but sometimes you can get lucky and grab more. I even got super lucky one time and found a silver coin. This room has nine chests, giving you a minimum of 500 copper coins per run.

The best part? The chests restock with more coins after 45 seconds. Considering you’ll need around 20-30 seconds to claim every trunk, you can quickly run laps around the room and farm money for as long as you want. The quest has no time limit, giving you free rein to grab plenty of cash.

Oh, and don’t worry if you’ve already completed the tutorial. You can return here at any point and continue farming money if you need some quick cash or are bored of skilling. In other words, even if you’re well past the tutorial, you won’t be locked out of this method.

Best early-game money-making methods

Looting barracks trunks is one of the best early-game money-making methods you’ll find in Brighter Shores. However, if you prefer improving your professions or questing, you can try one alternative method: cooking.

The chef profession is extremely valuable when it comes to money-making. Since food doesn’t give you any buffs, its sole purpose is to make money or give EXP through the Chef Bounty Board. In particular, the following dishes are the easiest to mass-produce for profit:

• Omelette (Lv. 4 Cooking)
• Vegetable Stew (Lv. 8 Cooking)
• Dab Stew (Lv. 20 Cooking)
• Grilled Bass (Lv. 32 Cooking)
• Roasted Sturlet (Lv. 40 Cooking)
• Baked Bream (Lv. 48 Cooking)
• Fried Ray Wings (Lv. 50 Cooking)

When it comes to the easiest and most effective cooking recipe, there’s no competition: Omelettes are the best, at least early on. You can easily buy eggs from Kevin’s ingredient stall, allowing you to run back and forth from the restaurant entrance to the frying pan and mass-produce this dish. However, if you want to get other professions involved, fishing for dab, bream, bass, and other one-ingredient meals is a solid alternative.
