As you progress through Palworld, you’ll need to level up your base in order to build more bases. This expansion is crucial, giving you room to further your production and resource gathering potential. Increasing your Base Level also allows more Pals to work at each base, really boosting your productivity.
When it comes to placing down your first base in Palworld, the possibilities seem almost endless. It’s tempting to slap it down in the first location you come to, but you should look for somewhere with resources for your Pals to gather. As you progress, you’ll find different resources and unlocking additional bases and putting your Pals to work allows you to passively gather resources while you’re exploring.
As a side note, it’s a good idea to match the number of Pals on each base with the number of beds, otherwise you’re going to end up with some pretty miserable, work-shy Pals to deal with.
You’ll also need additional bases purely to house the huge number of massive base structures available to build, so here’s how to level up your base in Palworld, and what each Base Level upgrade will reward.
How to level up your base in Palworld
When you want to level up your base in Palworld, simply head to your Pal Box located in the center of you base. Then hit the V key to bring up the upgrade window. On this window you will see your current base level as well as what you need to build in order to upgrade your base to the next level.
Once you have successfully built everything it requires, simply click the Build Upgrade button and it will level up your base. Keep in mind you won’t receive your second base until you reach Base Level 10, but you will unlock more slots at your base to put your Pals to work.
What do you need to level up your base?
Each Base Level upgrade has different pre-requisites which are usually just structures that need to be built before you can upgrade, with each structure being found on the Technology Ladder. As of the Feybreak update in December 24, there are currently 30 Base Level upgrades. Completing all 30 Base Level upgrades will allow you to build the current maximum of four bases:
