How to get the Winter Jacket in Sons of the Forest 1.0

Stay warm out there

If you took Endnight’s advice and started a new save file of Sons of the Forest, you’ll likely enter winter on the island right about now. The good news is, if you need some extra protection from the elements, there’s a Winter Jacket to be had.

The bad news? It’s not where it used to be.

Before the implementation of 1.0, the Winter Jacket was found on an abandoned campsite near a waterfall on the western half of the map. The spot was relatively easy to reach, and you couldn’t really miss it once you got close, thanks to the sound of rushing water.

While the Winter Jacket won’t protect you entirely, it will provide an extended period of time before you begin to suffer, which means you won’t have to spend so much time near a Bonfire. To explore, though, you should still go armed with a Torch to fend off the chill.

If you want to get the Winter Jacket after the full release of Sons of the Forest, I’d recommend making a point to do so before the first snow falls and gives you the shivers.

To find it, you’ll need to head around the north side of the mountain and climb your way up until you find the Golf Course. It’ll be pretty obvious that you’re near when you get close, because also implemented in 1.0 were icons for Golf Carts that appear with proximity, which is a blessing in this case.

Once you’re on the Golf Course, head east until you come across a tent with six filled body bags at the side of it. Inside this tent, you’ll find the Winter Jacket laying on the floor. All you need to do is hold E, and you’ll change into it.
