Weapon mods are one of the most crucial staples to any build in Remnant 2. They come with a wide variety of uses, as well. Some deal their own damage to enemies, some increase your damage, and others have varying levels of utility. As you progress, more weapon mods will become available to you, further increasing your power. Let’s go over how to get weapon mods in Remnant 2.
How to craft weapon mods in Remnant 2
When you create a character in Remnant 2, four basic weapon mods are readily available to you. However, if you want to utilize any others, you will have to craft them.
You can craft new weapon mods by visiting Ava McCabe in the main hub at Ward 13. Ava is introduced at the beginning of the game, but you will find yourself visiting her quite a bit throughout Remnant 2. She has the ability to craft new gear and weapon mods based on the rare materials you will discover throughout the various worlds.
Most bosses also drop special materials that can be used to craft a one-time exclusive weapon or weapon mod. You’ll often also need a handful of general-purpose crafting materials including Iron, Scrap, and Lumenite Crystals. It’s worth heading back to Ward 13 and checking in with Ava after you finish a world and clear out its bosses. Chances are she will be able to craft something new out of the rare materials you received throughout your adventure.
How to get more mod power for your weapon mods
You’ll notice that weapon mods require a specific mod power in order to be used. Some of the more advanced weapon mods can require a hefty amount of mod power, as well. Don’t worry, even though this may look like some sort of requirement to even access the weapon mod, that’s not actually how it works.
Mod power charges as you kill enemies. Once you’ve charged enough, you can activate your weapon mod. You can also equip certain traits, gear, and accessories that further increase your mod power generation. Also, resting at a Red Crystal will fully replenish your mod power, which can be handy before engaging a boss or tough group of enemies.
It’s also important to note that when you remove or change weapon mods, the mod power charge is completely reset.
