How to get the Moonlight Sword in Armored Core 6 (AC6)

As many know by now, it’s probably video game law that all FromSoftware games must have a Moonlight Sword. The good news is that Armored Core 6: Fires Of Rubicon features the Moonlight Sword, more specifically a version of it called IA-CO1W2: MOONLIGHT. It’s a light wave blade that hasn’t degraded one bit ever since tarnished warriors began brandishing it in the distant times of Elden Ring, and it’s somehow as efficient at destroying robots as it was at killing monsters. The possibly bad news is that getting the sword might not prove easy, as a company known for making challenging games wouldn’t give away its crown jewel without putting up a fight.

Where to find it?

Sadly, Armored Core 6’s sequential mission-based design prevents players from coming up with strategies to run around numerous enemies and get it at the start of the game, Dark Souls style. You have to play up until Chapter Four. You’ll find the Moonlight Blade in Mission 34: Reach The Coral Convergence.

But it’s not a simple scavenger hunt

First and foremost, players will have to face off against two Armored Core units at the same time. They are the V.VI Materlock and the G3 WU Huahai. Players accustomed to FromSoftware games already know that 1v2 engagements can be a nightmare, but luckily this isn’t on par with Ornstein and Smough difficulty-wise. Still, just as in that fight, you should also focus on one of those enemies instead of chipping out HP from them both at the same time, so I suggest you focus on Matterlock first.

The Moonlight Blade’s location

Once you’re done, find a suspension bridge that looks a bit like the Brooklyn Bridge and cross it over to the other side. Once you get to the end, look down and to your left. You’ll see a group of four wheel-shaped enemies guarding a chest. That’s it, there’s where the sword is. Resist the leftover Dark Souls-y urges tempting you to sprint past them to get the chest. Dispose of the enemies and then get to the chest. Open it, and then the weapon is yours — but only once you complete the mission. Players who have finished the mission without getting the Moonlight Blade shouldn’t worry, as they can just replay it and get it then.

If you have a tolerance for very strong lighting effects, yes. Its charge attack can tackle various enemies at once, and even though it’s a melee weapon, it also features a combo that fires two devastating long-ranged beams of light. This is definitely one of the best weapons in the game for PVE, and possibly for PVP as well.
