The Lighthouse Key location is one of the final mysteries you can solve in Alan Wake 2. It’s earned at the end of an arduous quest, and you may find the journey more rewarding than the destination.
You get the Lighthouse Key as one of the final rewards for discovering every Cult Stash location in Alan Wake 2. And there are more than just a simple handful of these “treasure boxes” in the game. Like with the lunchbox locations, the Cult Stash puzzles are an optional side activity to complete while playing as the co-protagonist Saga Anderson. There are 22 boxes to find, offering up various goods such as ammunition, health supplies, and more.
No matter what, the final Cult Stash you open will contain one more goody: The key to the lighthouse in Watery. It must have been on your mind if you ran across it during the Return 3: Local Girl chapter. A locked, mysterious lighthouse? What could possibly be inside?
Rewards earned after you use the Lighthouse Key in Alan Wake 2
There’s not much in the Watery Lighthouse, as it turns out. It contains a smorgasbord of loot such as ammunition, flares, etc., but that’s not much of a difference compared to the standard stash box. There are little bits of lore to discover, in the form of a blueprint and manuscript pages. Mostly, it’s flavor text that offers more insight into the Cult of the Tree, its creation, its goals, and those involved.
There are more things to discover in Alan Wake 2 beyond your hunt to get the Lighthouse Key. If you’ve been to the building, you likely noticed the nearby Nursery Rhyme puzzle. If you’re still hunting those down and eager to know the solutions, we have the guide to follow. Alan himself also has a side quest to find Words of Power, and we know where they all are. Good luck on the hunt.
