The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is full to the brim with all kinds of awesome armor sets, but few are more fun than the Awakening Armor. To unlock this gear set, you’ll need to finish three quests and solve three riddles.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through where to pick up all the Misko’s Treasure of Awakening quests, show you how to solve the riddles, and tell you what you’ll need to upgrade the set.
How to Start the Misko’s Treasure of Awakening Quests
To get started, you’ll need to find the Goronbi River Cave. It’s on the west side of Death Mountain, at coordinates 1424, 2100, 0286. The shrine next to Goron City is closest. The inside of the cave is hot, so you’ll need flame proof armor.
Near the back of the cave, after you’ve crossed the lava flows and defeated the monsters, you’ll find the Ember Shirt item in a chest. Close to that, you’ll see a stone tablet from which you can take the first Misko’s Treasure of Awakening quest.
How to Complete Misko’s Treasure of Awakening I
On the stone tablet in Goronbi River Cave you’ll find the following riddle:
“On the Tabantha Frontier, where Rayne, Piper and Tanagar meet, ruined pillars stand together. One of those mighty pillars opens the way to my treasure.”
You can find the solution to this riddle at the Ancient Columns in Tabantha Frontier, which lies between Piper Ridge, Tanagar Canyon, and the Rayne Highlands. The ruins are guarded by the Gleeok, which you can thankfully avoid if you’re careful.
Once you arrive at the columns, look at the tops of the pillars until you find the big one with a button on the top. The exact coordinates are -3484, 0422, 0292. Pressing the button opens a door in the center of the ruins. Head inside and you’ll find the Trousers of Awakening, along with the next riddle.
How to Complete Misko’s Treasure of Awakening II
Misko’s treasure of awakening part 2 starts with the following riddle:
“In the ruins of Hyrule Field, where warriors once tested themselves in battle, offer your soldier’s claymore to the two sculpted soldiers. The sword will point the way to my treasure.”
The second riddle refers to the Coliseum Ruins in Hyrule Field, at -1126, -1168, 0046. Unfortunately, the ruins are guarded by a Thunder Gleeok. Once the boss is defeated, head to the back of the ruins. There you’ll need to give the weaponless statue a Solider’s Claymore. This will open another secret door, through which you’ll find the Tunic of Awakening and another riddle.
How to Complete Misko’s Treasure of Awakening III
The riddle that comes alongside the tunic reads as follows:
“On Hyrule Ridge, in Ludfo’s land, ruins sleep beneath the towering mushroom trees. Connect the southern column’s midday shadow to the northern. At the shadow’s centre, the way to my treasure will open”.
To solve this one, head to the south column in Ludfo’s Bog at noon, -2268, 0877, 0127. You’ll see the column has a shadow at noon that doesn’t quite touch the column that it appears to be reaching for, so you’ll need to extend that shadow. Fusing together a few of the nearby trees should do the trick-place them between the shadow and the north column. Another door will appear and you’ll find the final armor piece: the Mask of Awakening.
How to Upgrade the Armor of Awakening
To upgrade the armor, you’ll need luminous stone, star fragments, and of course, rupees. You can upgrade the set at any Great Fairy Fountain. Once you upgrade each item twice, you’ll get an attack up bonus for the set.
