One of the most important resources from Against the Storm is Parts. They’re used for quite a few buildings, most notably all your camps. However, parts are also quite rare, and it’s not immediately obvious how you get more.
There are a few ways to get Parts, but you should first understand that they cannot be simply harvested. Keep that in mind before you spend them all, and you need some to build an important building, you’re going to need to tear down one that is less important at that moment.
To get more, however, there are a few ways to go about it.
Trade for more
If you have a trading post or simply discover a trader when entering a new glade, there’s potential that they’ll have parts in their stock. Take advantage of this and trade some of your unneeded overstock or amber to obtain them.
Complete Glade Events and Orders
Some Glade Events that pop up when you enter a dangerous or forbidden glade will reward you with parts. This can be both the dangerous events that pop up in dangerous and forbidden glades, or they can also be the crates of supplies that you come across. Since you’re given the option between two sets of rewards, if you’re running low on Parts, you may want to prioritize those rewards.
Likewise, Orders will also occasionally give you the option to receive Parts as part of the reward. Definitely consider this, as there is only one more way to get parts.
Get lucky and find a Rainpunk Foundry
There’s a certain Glade Event that you may come across if you enter into a forbidden glade, and that’s the Rainpunk Foundry. If you manage to find one, make sure that you choose to repair the building to get it as a reward.
The Rainpunk Foundry is immensely helpful since it can not only create Parts but also Wildfire Essence. Even if you don’t have an imminent use for these resources, both have a very high trade value. Parts require two ingredients that are all pretty common to manufacture. However, Wildfire Essence requires three ingredients. Regardless, having a facility that can manufacture two rare resources is quite a great find.
