How to get more Technology Points in Palworld

Technology Points are the key to everything

Within Palworld, Technology Points are necessary to unlock new craftable items or structures for your base. Gathering Technology Points can seem daunting, but they’re actually pretty easy to come by, even if the fights are harder than usual. Here’s how to get more Technology Points in Palworld.

Once you’ve unlocked and built your crafting bench, you’ll need to build up some Technology Points if you have any hopes of surviving on Palapagos Island. The system is familiar to anyone who has ever played a survival game before – a certain number of Points will unlock a new item, which can be crafted at the crafting bench, or a new structure to erect within your camp.

Technology Points are earned in three different ways:

  • Leveling up
  • Unlocking new fast travel points
  • Collecting Technology Manuals

The easiest way to earn more Points is to explore the island – whether or not you intend on catching any of the Pals you come across. Each fast travel point you unlock will earn you one Technology Point.

A slightly more challenging, though more rewarding method, for gathering Technology Points is to venture forth and capture as many Pals as you can. Each Pal caught will provide you with EXP and you’ll get a bonus amount of EXP if you capture 10 of the same Pal. All of these points add up and help you increase your level, which comes with additional Technology Points.

Capturing Pals comes with added bonuses, too. You can assign them to specific roles on your base, meaning that things get done even if you’re out exploring the wilds of Palapagos.

Lastly, you can gather Technical Manuals, which can be found in chests around the world or by taking down Alpha Bosses throughout Palpagos, but they mostly drop in Dungeons. There are three levels of Technical Manual which reward basic Technology Points, all of which give a fixed number of additional Technology Points:

  • High Grade Technical Manual
    • Found after defeating Alpha Pals in low-level dungeons and in chests in the overworld
    • Gives one Technology Point when used
  • Innovative Technical Manual
    • Found after defeating Alpha Pals in mid-level Dungeons and in chests in the overworld
    • Gives two Technology Points when used
  • Future Technical Manual
    • Found after defeating the Alpha Pal in high-level Dungeons
    • Gives three Technology Points when used

How to get Ancient Technology Points

Ancient Technology Points are earned through battling and defeating the Syndicate Tower bosses. These advanced points allow you to unlock recipes that can’t be unlocked with basic Technology Points – such as the Egg Incubator or Grapple Gun – so they’re worth going for.

Every Syndicate Tower boss that you defeat for the first time will earn you five Ancient Technology Points.

They’re also earned by defeating the strong “world bosses” – such as Mammorest – that you encounter in the wild. They reward one Ancient Technology Point the first time you defeat them, but any subsequent defeats will only reward parts and basic drops.

You can also gain additional Ancient Technology Points by using an Ancient Technical Manual. These can be found once high-level Dungeon Alpha Pals have been defeated, and reward one Ancient Technology Point when used.

To unlock a new recipe, simply press the escape key (or menu button on consoles) and navigate to the Technology tab at the top of the pop-up window.

Here, you’ll find every recipe you can unlock (although some of them are blocked out for the time being). Ancient Technology Point recipes can be found in the purple column on the right-hand side of the window.
