In Nightingale, Essence Dust is one of the most important resources in the entire game. You’ll need Essence Dust at every stage of Nightingale, including the beginning, middle, and endgame. Here are the best ways how to get Essence Dust in Nightingale as well as why you will need lots of it.
Best ways to get Essence Dust in Nightingale
While simply tasks like killing creatures grant some Dust, there is actually a better and faster way to get a lot of Essence Dust. The best way to get Essence Dust in Nightingale is to gather a ton of low-weight and easy-to-acquire materials like Sticks and Plant Fiber, and then Extract them.
Each item gives a different amount of Essence Dust when you choose to Extract them. Keep in mind doing so will destroy the item, but you will get some Essence Dust out of it. Common items like Sticks and Plant Fiber only give one Essence Dust. However, you can collect a vast amount of them in a short period of time, so it’s often better to just mass loot everything around you and then follow-up by mass Extracting everything for its Essence Dust.
What is Essence Dust used for?
At the moment, Essence Dust has two essential purposes in Nightingale. First, you can use the Essence Dust to repair your existing armor, tools, and weapons. The easiest way to do this is to open your inventory and hit the Repair All button, which will consume a handful of Essence Dust to repair everything. You can see how much it will cost by hovering over it.
You can also use Essence Dust as a currency when trading with Essence Traders found throughout the Realms. Typically they will sell you crafting recipes in exchange for your Essence Dust, with recipes costing anywhere from 20-50 Essence Dust on average.
