How to get and use the Wings of Icarus in Fortnite

Soar through the skies and catch others by surprise

Mobility items in Fortnite are a great way to get around the map faster to avoid the storm, catch up to other players, or escape from a dicey situation. The Wings of Icarus, added in Chapter 5, Season 2, are unique in their ability to help you visit hard-to-reach areas or launch a surprise attack on others.

Where to find Wings of Icarus in Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 2

The Wings of Icarus item appears as floor and chest loot during your Fortnite rounds. As you explore the map and open chests, there’s a random chance you’ll find these wings among your regular weapon drops. You can also eliminate other players who picked up the Wings of Icarus previously to get them for yourself.

Although you’re not guaranteed to find the Wings of Icarus during every match, you’re likely to spot them at least once if you actively open up chests and survive the first few minutes of the game. Targeting higher-value chests, such as those on Loot Island or in weapon bunkers, can help raise your odds of finding these wings.

How to use Wings of Icarus in Fortnite

The Wings of Icarus’ main feature allows you to fly around the map quickly, which you activate by equipping the wings and using your attack button. Once in flight, you can speed up using your attack button or dive bomb unsuspecting enemies using your aim sights button.

Keep an eye on your health, stamina, and durability as you use the Wings of Icarus. The wings have limited stamina and durability, so you can’t fly from one side of the map to another in one go. Taking damage can also cause you to crash land, so watch out for any incoming attacks.
