How to get a mount in Diablo 4

Are mounts easy or hard to get? Yes

Recommended Videos

After the prologue in Diablo 4, you will see the tantalizing prospect of unlocking a mount. A stable can be found right in the city of Kyovashad, but obtaining your trusty steed will remain impossible. What gives?

You’ll notice a message stating that unlocking a mount in Diablo 4 involves a prerequisite. In this case, you need to complete a quest called Mount: Donan’s Favor. You won’t have more to go off than that, which might leave you scratching your head wondering where the heck you’ll find this quest. This fortunately has a straightforward answer, though those looking for their mount right away might feel bummed out by it.

Where to find Donan’s Favor in Diablo 4

Donan’s Favor will appear as a quest during Act 4 of the main campaign. Unlocking Act 4 requires completely clearing the first three acts, so you won’t find a specific way to speed this process along. Keep progressing the story in any order you want and you’ll eventually get there.

Once you reach Act 4, focus once again on progressing the main story. After a specific scene, the titular Donan will notice your lack of a mount and offer to hook you up. This unlocks the Donan’s Favor quest, which literally just consists of visiting the stable in Kyovashad again. Yes, that’s all you need to do.

Fortunately, that means you won’t have to wait any longer to use your mount. This will make traversing the world much faster than before, though note that hopping off your mount will trigger a short cooldown before you can get back on. Look at your horse, your horse is amazing!
