You may have purchased Another Crab’s Treasure after seeing photos of a colorful, vibrant game thinking it would be a fun little adventure.
Actually, it’s a Soulslike, and it can be just as punishing and frustrating as any other. Your little crab adventure will have its ups and downs, but the developers included a certain feature to help new or struggling players overcome any obstacle instantly. You can get a gun and one-shot everything in the game.
Enable the in-game assist feature
There are two reasons to use a gun in Another Crab’s Treasure. First is the obvious reason, you’re getting destroyed and you just can’t take it anymore. Some bosses, like any other soulslike, are bound to kill you for hours on end. As a result, you’ve reached your breaking point and just want to shoot it in the face. Understandable. The other reason is it’s just funny to use a gun and shoot people in a crab-themed soulslike. So why not?
Anyway, to get the gun, just pause the game and head to the settings menu. Here you’ll find a section called ‘Assist Mode’, click on that. Here, you’ll find a number of assistance features, the last of which simply reads ‘Give Kril a gun.’ Check the box and your crab will suddenly have a life-like pistol for a shell, which shoots bullets that instantly kill enemies.
Even if you don’t need to use the gun to beat a certain enemy or boss, it’s fun to try it out once or twice. You’ll even nab a free achievement for killing another crab with a gun with the click of a button.
Another Crab’s Treasure is meant to be hard
When you activate the ‘Give Kril a gun’ setting, you’ll receive a warning. It simply notifies you that Another Crab’s Treasure is meant to be a difficult game. In other words, you’re entering easy mode, which is not the way the developers intended for you to play it.
But it is nice of them to have given us an easy way out. Where was my gun option when I was fighting Melania for three days?
