Yet another Diablo 4 error

Diablo 4 has had a pretty smooth launch for most players. But for some, there has been an ungodly amount of errors when trying to play the game.

We started with the “Unable to find a valid license” error at the start of early access, then had a similar “Your account is currently locked” error when the global launch happened. Then as the weekend approached we suffered through error code 300202 and now we have error code 75. For the most part, all of these errors are very similar in terms of what cause the actual error as well as how to fix it.

This is how to fix Diablo 4 error code 75.

Unfortunately, this error can have a couple of different culprits. Let’s go over the various reasons you may be getting this error as well as how to fix it.

  • Issue 1: Outdated Client — Although this is mostly prevalent on console, PC players can sometimes have this issue as well. In this case, your client version is a mismatch from the version the Diablo 4 servers are running.
    • Issue 1 Fix — If you are on PlayStation or Xbox, restart your console and then check for an update. If you are on PC, restart Battle.net and check if you have an update pop-up or pending. Each post-launch update has been about 700MB so far, though future content updates will obviously be bigger.
  • Issue 2: Corrupted or Damaged Files — While the previous issue is more likely to affect consoles, this problem is more prevalent on PC. Basically, at least one of your game files got corrupted somehow and this is causing you to not get into the game.
    • Issue 2 Fix — If you are on PC, simply open Battle.net, go to the Diablo 4 game options, and select Scan & Repair. This will verify your game files and make sure you have nothing corrupted. If you do, it will automatically replace the file. If you are on console and have corrupted game files, sadly the only fix is to reinstall the game. I would consider checking Issue 3 before doing this.
  • Issue 3: Server Authentication Problems — This has been the most common issue throughout the launch of Diablo 4. Because the game requires a consistent online connection, if there are any network issues you could get this error.
    • Issue 3 Fix — First check your internet connection. If your internet is stable, check the Official Blizzard CS Twitter to make sure there’s no current server outage. Even if there is no update on their Twitter, it’s possible the authentication servers are currently overloaded from other players trying to connect. You will simply have to wait for the congestion clears, and then try again.
