How to find the Basilisk handgun in Call of Duty DMZ

This Basilisk has some bite

If you’ve loaded into a match of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II‘s DMZ mode, you know you’re going to need every advantage you can get to come out on top. If you’re going to successfully extract, you’re going to need some good firepower, like one of the most powerful handguns in the game: the Basilisk. The in-game description calls it “a double-action revolver firing .500 Cal rounds [that] kicks hard but hits harder. Unstoppable in the right hands. The handgun is pretty rare, with only two of them spawning each game, but don’t worry — here’s our guide to finding and securing your very own Basilisk on your next run.

Your first step is going to be finding one of the two Police Stations on the map. One is located in the Mawizeh Marshlands in the area by the docks, while the other is situated just outside Al Mazrah City to the northwest. There aren’t any icons on the map that point out the stations specifically, so you’ll have to be vigilant while looking for them. The good news is, after you find them once, you’ll know exactly where they are.

I spy… a high-powered revolver

Once you arrive at the station of your choosing, you’ll have to take out the AI enemies in the surrounding area — if you’re a stealth master, sneaking past them will also work. Inside the station, search all around on in every nook and cranny to find the Basilisk; it’s likely to be on a shelf, or possibly even sitting on the floor. All that’s left is to pick up the gun, and there you have it!

You also need the Basilisk to complete Tier 1 White Lotus mission “Badge of Honor,” which is the third mission available for that faction. Just use the revolver to secure 13 headshot kills, which should be easy enough with all of the AI enemies running around — there’s certainly never a shortage of them when I drop into Al Mazrah.

[Update (Chris Carter)]: If you’re looking to get easy headshots, you can “soften” enemies up a bit before you use the Basilisk handgun and take out their armor. Sneaking around/surprising enemies is another great way to get a guaranteed headshot, especially at a closer range.
