Manglers are a special type of zombie enemy you can come across in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Zombies. They are quite difficult to find in the game and equally as hard to kill, but thankfully, we have your back.
Mangler locations in MW3 Zombies
There are a couple of ways players are able to find Manglers in MW3 Zombies. The first method is by far the simplest way to locate these special zombie mini-boss-like enemies, but it is also the most random. Manglers sometimes appear on the open-world map of Urzikstan on their own, and players can come across them randomly.
However, this is all chance-based, and they aren’t marked on the map, so you could run around looking for them for hours without finding one. You can slightly increase your chances of finding one of these Manglers by heading to the medium and high-threat areas on the map. These orange spots often have higher-tier enemies like Manglers.
But your better option is to accept one of the Eliminate the Bounty contracts on the map. These are the contracts with the little crosshair in the middle. It will ask you to go and eliminate a marked elite zombie on the map. This isn’t guaranteed to be a Mangler, but it oftentimes ends up as one. You should be able to find a Mangler after just a few of these contracts. This is also by far the best way to farm for Manglers if you need to eliminate a lot of them for various challenges and the like.
How to kill Manglers
Locating a Mangler in MW3 Zombies is only half the task. The other half is eliminating it from the map. Manglers are quite powerful high-tier elite zombies with their own quirks and powers. In the case of the Mangler, it is decently fast, deals extremely high damage, and has peak-level defense in the form of armor.
This armor is going to be your most significant issue in a Mangler fight, so always aim for headshots. This is its weak point and the best way to deal serious damage to it. Energy Mines and explosive weaponry like launchers also make it easy to deal tons of damage and eliminate any weaker additional zombies nearby.
Finally, I recommend finding an ammo mod before taking on a Mangler if you can. Mods like the Scattered Blast and Brain Rot mods make it much easier to whittle down the large health bar of a Mangler. You can usually find these randomly in supply crates throughout the map.
Mods radically change up the way your weapons fire, which is a welcome boost for tough foes like Manglers. The Shatter Blast ammo mod gives an explosive edge to your weapons. Given the armored nature of the Mangler, these explosive rounds tear through the helmet and armor plates to deal some serious damage to the boss.
On the other hand, Brain Rot gives your guns a toxic damage bonus. This deals damage over time like a poison, making it more effective as a weakness for the Mangler. Either one of these are great, but you’ll need some luck to locate them.
