Remnant 2 is tougher than your average third-person shooter. If you’re willing to confront all challenges, you’ll receive bountiful rewards that will help you face other foes. One of the first big challenges you’ll face is Gwendil the Unburnt, who is located in Losomn. She unleashes a deadly onslaught upon you, but with the right tricks, she can be overcome.
Read this guide to learn how to defeat Gwendil the Unburnt in Remnant 2.
Gwendil the Unburnt’s plan of attack
Gwendil doesn’t give you much time to breathe between attacks. She has an endless supply of grenades to hurl, which can be incredibly devastating if they blast near you. You also have to worry about the enemies that’ll be clawing for you.
The battlefield presents its own problems. You’ll find that Gwendil moves between two platforms that you cannot climb onto. Hence, you’ll need a good long gun. Furthermore, there are fires on the ground. Step into them, and you may find yourself up in flames.
How to defeat Gwendil the Unburnt
As previously stated, Gwendil will occasionally throw enemies at you. The quicker you take out Gwendil, the fewer enemies she can summon. Therefore, it’s in your best interest to aim your gun at Gwendil and start blasting as soon as you spot her.
Don’t get too distracted by the other enemies, but don’t let them become too much of a nuisance either. Avoid shooting them, as they’ll catch fire, making them harder to deal with. Instead, kill the other enemies using a melee weapon. If you run out of ammo, slaying foes will eventually land you some.
There is a little wooden bridge between the two platforms Gwendil is on. If you stand under that bridge, you have a nice opportunity to unload your firearm at her while making it hard for her to strike back. Stick in that area, and you’ll be able to kill Gwendil without too much struggle. If your aim is good enough, fire at her head for maximum damage.
Regardless of where you position yourself, fire will be a constant issue during the battle. If you catch fire, roll to put it out. You’ll need stamina to do this, so ensure you’re always conserving this precious resource. To make things easier, consider coming equipped with armor that mitigates fire damage.
Defeat Gwendil and you’ll be rewarded with Alkahest Powder, a Tome of Knowledge, three Lumenite crystals, and x500 scrap. With these resources, you can upgrade and modify your weapons back at Ward 13.
