Frostbugs in Wuthering Waves can be annoying little buggers due to their ability to ignore all attacks and damage thrown their way completely. At first glance, they seem impossible to kill, but there is a way you can do the deed and earn some nice rewards in the process. Here’s how to defeat Frostbugs in Wuthering Waves.
How to kill Frostbugs in Wuthering Waves 1.1
Before you can attempt to kill these creatures, you need to find one first. Frostbugs are located within the new zone, Mt. Firmament, and are typically found around water sources, though not all the time. They look like little snakes or worms that stick out of the ground, wiggling around as you approach. If you get too close, they will hide in the ground and become completely immune to your damage. Likewise, if you attack one up close or even from afar, instead of losing health as you’d expect, they’ll burrow deep and become untouchable.
So, how do you slay these annoying pests? Turns out, Frostbugs do, in fact, have a glaring weak point, but it requires you to position yourself well to take advantage of it. If you circle around to their backs, you might be able to see a sort of ‘bullseye’ on the topmost area of their heads.
If you successfully hit a Frostbug in this spot, they’ll go down in just a single hit. However, keep in mind that you’ll need to make use of range attacks to hit this target because any attempt to melee it will result in the bug hiding and becoming immune to your damage again. Chixia or any gun character will make short work of any Frostbugs you come across.
What kind of rewards do Frostbugs give?
The whole reason you want to kill the Frostbugs is for the various rewards each one is prone to drop, which all tend to be rather lucrative in the grand scheme of material grinding in Wuthering Waves. The most notable reward a Frostbug kill will earn you is Astrite, pull currency. I’ve found that most give around 20 Astrite per kill, which is very decent when compared to the five or ten you get from opening up chests. Frostbug kills can also net you credits, material resources, and even a small amount of Echo Experience, which makes them completely worth hunting as you explore.
So there you have it. Frostbugs are worth your time and they are not invincible if you know how to deal with them. There’s a lot around Mt. Firmament so go reap those rewards. Happy hunting.
