The Prismatic subclass might just be the best thing since Rasputin. Say what you will about the story, but Destiny 2 has never been more fun to play. Much like Stasis and Strand, players need to collect each aspect to fully unlock Prismatic’s potential.
Three pieces can be obtained through the Found in the Dark missions. If you’re looking to begin the quest chain with some guidance, here’s how to start Found in the Dark, and what you’ll need to know to see those quests through in The Final Shape.
When will we get the Zavala and Caiatl romance arc?
To unlock Found in the Dark, you’ll need to complete The Final Shape campaign. Upon returning to the Lost City, Ghost will give you the Destined Heroes mission, which serves as a source for several other missions, including Found in the Dark. Speak with Cayde-6 to get the Wild Card mission and then return to Ghost to get Found in the Dark.
The starting point is east in the Blooming. Marking it in the Director will create a marker that’s fairly straightforward to follow. You’ll know you’re going the right way once you enter the Seclusion. Inside will be some Taken patrolling the House Salvation camp you and Mithrax ran roughshod over in the Lost in the Light mission.
Just past them will be two portals. Ignore the glowing orange and black one and dive into the other, which looks like a broken mirror. You’ll eventually come upon a Prismatic chest which contains a Prismatic aspect. From here, you can listen to some lore from Empress Caiatl and start the next mission, Home, Part I.
Home, Part I – Defeat the Artillery Commander in The Final Shape
You’ll be teleported to the Transgression with plenty of Shadow Legion to cut a path through. After sending them to the Spirit in the Sky, you’ll find yourself in a Pyramid room that introduces Found in the Dark’s mechanic.
There will be a Psion in a bubble somewhere in the room (it was in the center for me). Enter the bubble and put the Psion down. This will open up several more rooms with additional Psions to find.
As you progress, you’ll enter an open space with several generators and artillery raining down. Find the Artillery Officer and take their antenna. Plant the antenna on a generator to call down a strike and destroy it. Rinse and repeat for the second generator.
The next area is where it all ties together. You need to kill the Psions in the bubbles to lower the shields around the generators. Then you must steal the antennae from the Artillery Officers and place them on the generators. The Cabal and Dread forces won’t stop spawning, so it’s best to focus on destroying the generators.
Once you’ve destroyed the generators, an Artillery Commander will spawn. Fortunately, the Empress and her entourage are here to assist. As you whittle away the Commander’s health, it will become immune. Defeat the Prismatic Bound Omen to make the Commander more receptive to your attacks.
With that rabble out of the way, you’ll be sent back to the Seclusion to collect another Prismatic aspect. Once you’re done tinkering with your build, activate the beacon to begin the next mission.
Home, Part II – Defeat the Shadow Legion
Home, Part II has you high up in the mountains and afflicted with Biting Cold. Should the 45-second timer run out, you’ll do your best Green Boots impression. So, stick to the bonfires to keep warm.
Follow the path through the mountains until Caiatl and her guard rejoin you in front of several floating platforms. The objective is still to destroy the generators, but tweaked a little bit. Jump to the platforms and find the bubble Psions. Killing them will lower the shields around the generators. Drop down to the path below and seek out the Honored Centurions, who drop an Unstable Power Unit. Use the launcher to fling yourself back up to the platform and throw the Unstable Power Unit at a generator to destroy it.
After clearing both sets of platforms, you’ll follow the mountain pass to a cavern where the Biting Cold has thankfully subsided. The cave will eventually lead to Zavala’s farmstead where there is a full-on Shadow Legion invasion.
This fight is the same as in the mountains, except the shield generators are protecting a Cabal tank. This encounter is nothing short of miserable, as your NPC companions are all but useless, and the enemies are constantly respawning. You’ll die a lot here, but won’t lose any progress. So, keep it up until the tank is destroyed.
Back in the Seclusion will be the third and final chest containing a Prismatic aspect. Feel free to listen to the lore or teleport back to the Lost City. You’re done here.
