To help you through this grueling fight, we’ll show you a few tips and tricks to complete A Battle of Speed! Defeat Beerus! in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero A Battle of Speed! Defeat Beerus! guide

The A Battle of Speed! Defeat Beerus! Bonus Battle requires you to inflict roughly 20 percent damage on Beerus every 30 seconds. If you don’t get the chance to hit him enough within this duration, Beerus will unleash a fatal attack, concluding the fight shortly after. You can keep track of the time by paying attention to the following character dialogue at specific intervals:

  • 10 seconds: “*yawn* This is boring” (Beerus)
  • 20 seconds: “Oh no… They’re getting bored!” (Vegeta)
  • 30 seconds: “I’m bored. It’s time to end this!” (Beerus)

By the time Beerus shouts: “It’s time to end this!”, you’ll likely trigger a loss with his heavy-hitting strike. To avoid this event, do not use Vegeta’s transformation. The transforming technique just takes too long to charge up, so don’t waste your time doing it. Plus, Vegeta’s base form is the most suitable for Beerus, especially with his dynamic moveset.

Best technique to use in A Battle of Speed! Defeat Beerus!

Using standard punches won’t do you good here, as they don’t have enough power to inflict 20 percent damage. The key is to trigger Beam Clashes, where you must initiate Vegeta’s Galick Gun after Beerus activates his Sphere of Destruction (where he points his finger up). This technique was the only one that worked for me, amongst other players. To give you an example, you can perform the following steps to defeat Beerus in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero:

  1. Charge up your Ki to at least three bars
  2. Keep your distance from Beerus and wait for him to unleash Sphere of Destruction
  3. Perform Galick Gun right after he throws the sphere
  4. Counterattack Beerus’ strike with the Beam Clash
  5. Rinse and repeat

Charging up your Ki is always a must in this Bonus Battle. You’ll need it to accumulate power for Vegeta’s Galick Gun, requiring about three bars each time. If you’re having trouble charging it, get some distance between your character and Beerus. You won’t be doing many close-range battles anyway, giving you more chances to charge your Ki. However, you must watch out for Beerus’ far-reaching Ki Blasts, which he’ll likely use at the start of the fight (use guard whenever this happens).

Once you’ve charged up your Ki, you must wait for Beerus’ Sphere of Destruction. Unfortunately, Beerus will sometimes not use this attack, depending on your luck. I had one match where he rarely used it, then another where he always initiated it. Therefore, if he isn’t using it as much as in one round, you may need to restart to better your chances.

Those lucky enough to get a bunch of Sphere of Destructions can begin the Beam Clash. Button smash your way through this attack to come out victorious and inflict significant damage on Beerus. You’ll likely repeat this process again and again until his health is almost out.

I also suggest using Vegeta’s Ultimate Final Flash attack toward the end of the battle. That means you must charge up your Ki and gain a Skill Count to reach the enhanced Sparking Mode form. This method will be challenging at the start of the match, but you should obtain the necessary energy near the mid-to-late stages.

Mastering Sparking Zero’s A Battle of Speed! Defeat Beerus! will undoubtedly require a lot of practice. But with the strategies outlined above, you’ll find the journey to victory much more manageable. And remember, the rewards and the sense of accomplishment at the end are well worth the effort. You’ll gain the God of Destruction Training Ability Item, 30,000 Zenni, and Player EXP. Don’t forget to pat yourself on the back, too, after surviving that devastatingly brutal Bonus Battle.
