How to dress up your companions in Starfield
If you want to change your companion’s apparel, you first need to have the outfit in your inventory. Next, go to your companion and select “Let’s trade gear.” This will open up your inventory. Head to the outfit you want your companion to wear, and transfer it to your companion.
Next, head to your companion’s inventory, open the apparel tab, and scroll to the outfit you’ve just given them. Next, press the equip button. On the screen, it’ll look like your character has equipped the outfit, but that’s not the case. Exit, and you’ll find your companion has put on the outfit. You can follow the same steps if you want to change your companion’s spacesuit.
Weapons can also be shared with your companions, but don’t forget to give them ammo for the weapons. Fortunately, you won’t need to replenish their ammo supply.
