This arena is tied to deluxe and collector’s edition DLC
You’ll be able to wield the Dark Arts in Hogwarts Legacy via an in-game skill tree, and the Dark Arts battle arena: which is a DLC bonus for the deluxe and collector’s editions of the game. Here’s where to find it, and how to beat it.
The Dark Arts battle arena location
You’ll find the Dark Arts battle arena north of Hogwarts in the Forbidden Forest, in the countryside near the top end of the world map. The exact location can be found in the gallery above (we’ve even provided a zoomed-out view so you can see where it is in relation to several big landmarks).
Once you fly/walk/fast travel over to it, you’ll need to do a tiny bit of legwork to actually open up the arena entrance. See that little pot icon in the upper right hand corner? You need to walk around the immediate area and destroy pots with a basic cast. Once you reach the requirement of 10/10, a brief cutscene will play, and you can enter the arena.
You’ll be able to wield three unforgivable curses: here’s how to use them to beat the Dark Arts battle arena
Here, players will need to tangle with several waves of enemies in a row, including mid-boss-esque trolls on top of grunts. In a somewhat controversial move, this pre-order bonus arena will give you access to three unforgivable curses:
- Crucio (torture)
- Imperio (charm enemies)
- Avada Kedavra (death)
Use these curses whenever they are off cooldown, save for Avada Kedavra. That insta-kill curse has a very long reset time, so it’s best to use it on elites like trolls. Imperio works great when there’s more than two enemies in the arena, and Crucio is fine to cast pretty much whenever: ideally on an elite (possibly after you’ve instantly taken out a second elite in the arena, which happens in several waves).
With the addition of unforgivable curses the arena isn’t too difficult: just use them wisely.
