How long is Super Mario Bros. Wonder?

Relatively short and sweet

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a superb game, and potentially one of the best side-scrolling Mario games since Super Mario World. The game has certainly garnered a lot of hype fast, but how long, exactly, is the game? Is it worth buying at full price?

There are technically two answers for how long Super Mario Bros. Wonder is. If you just speed through, do the bare minimum to complete each world, and race to get to the final level, you could finish the game in an afternoon. Yes, if you really wanted to, you could probably see the credits roll within about six hours. However, Super Mario Bros. Wonder has so much to see and do that playing it this way wouldn’t do it justice. If you aim for 100% completion, completing every level and uncovering every secret along the way, the game will last you between 15-20 hours.

That may seem short, but it’s consistent with most side-scroller games. In the case of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, the game’s length really speaks to its lack of filler content. There’s always something new and exciting to see in front of you, which is in large part why the game has gotten such rave reviews. Additionally, since Super Mario Bros. Wonder supports up to four-player cooperative play, you may find yourself replaying this one with friends quite a bit.

In other words, while the game is short, I’d say it’s well worth the cash. Mario games typically don’t go on sale, but if you don’t mind waiting a long while, you could opt to get it when it is discounted. I’ll leave that decision up to you, but I’ll just say that if you’re looking for a quality game for either yourself or the whole family, this is a good pick.
