Chronicled Wish: Genshin Impact’s new banner type explained

An easier way to get older characters and weapons.

For the first time ever, Genshin Impact is receiving an entirely new banner type in Version 4.5. Here are all the details on how Chronicled Wish will work, including characters, weapons, and pity system.

How Genshin Impact’s Chronicled Wish banners work

Chronicled Wish features a variety of 5-star characters as well as weapons. It can also include banner-exclusive 4-star weapons like the Alley series, Lithic series, etc.

Wishing on this banner will require Intertwined Fates, the same type of currency as the event character and weapon banners.

Before you start your pulls, you must chart a course for your desired character or weapon. If you choose a character, your 5-star pulls will only consist of characters. If you choose a weapon, your 5-star pulls will only consist of weapons.

Chronicled Wish will be available “from time to time,” and featured 5-stars may change. Like other banners, Chronicled Wish banners last 21 days.

Limited 5-star characters may only appear on Chronicled Wish banners when they have already had three or more event banners. Standard 5-star characters and weapons may appear at any time.

How does the Chronicled Wish pity system work?

The pity system for Genshin Impact’s Chronicled Wish appears to be the same as for the character banners. The 5-star hard pity is at 90 pulls, with 4-star hard pity at 10 pulls. There is also a soft pity system which dramatically increases your chance of pulling a 5-star starting at around 74 pulls.

The 50/50 system will also be in play, albeit with a slight change. Before you start wishing, you should chart your course for your desired character or weapon. The first 5-star you pull has a 50% chance of being your chosen character or weapon. If you lose your 50/50, you will receive a 5-star character or weapon from the pool of featured characters/weapons. Standard 5-star characters and weapons that are not explicitly listed in the banner details are not in the wishing pool.

For example, if you chart your course for Albedo, it’s possible to lose your 50/50 and get Klee instead. You are also guaranteed to get the same type of item that you chose. So if you charted your course for Albedo, your lost 50/50s will always be another character, never a weapon.

After you lose your 50/50 once, your next 5-star is guaranteed to be the character or weapon you chose. If you fail to pull your desired item after losing your 50/50, your guarantee will not transfer over to future Chronicled Wish banners.

Your 5-star pity count will carry over to subsequent Chronicled Wish banners, but your 50/50 guarantee will not. You should only pull on Chronicled Wish banners if you have enough currency to guarantee what you want, even if you lose your 50/50.
