Horizon Forbidden West PC requirements

Although Horizon Forbidden West launched for PS5 in 2022, the PC version is finally on its way out. It’s certainly been a long time coming, and now you can prepare for its release in a few ways. Now, Sony has listed all the PC requirements for Horizon Forbidden West.

All Horizon Forbidden West PC system requirements

Nixxes and Guerrilla have provided the following requirements, including minimum, recommended, high, and very high graphics presets:

Minimum PC system requirements

• Preset: Very Low
• AVG Performance: 720 at 30 FPS
• Processor: Intel Core i3-8100 or AMD Ryzen 3 1300X
• Memory: 16GB RAM
• Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 4GB or AMD Radeon RX 5500XT 4GB
• Storage: 150GB SSD space
• OS: Windows 10 64-bit (version 1909 or higher)

Recommended PC system requirements

• Preset: Medium
• AVG Performance: 1080 P at 60 FPS
• Processor: Intel Core i5-8600 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600
• Memory: 16GB RAM
• Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 or AMD Radeon RX 5700
• Storage: 150 GB SSD space
• OS: Windows 10 64-bit (version 1909 or higher)

High PC system requirements

• AVG Performance: 1440P at 60 FPS/4K at 30 FPS
• Processor: Intel Core i7-9700 or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
• Memory: 16GB RAM
• Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 or AMD Radeon RX 6800
• Storage: 150 GB SSD space
• OS: Windows 10 64-bit (version 1909 or higher)

Very High PC system requirements

• Preset: Very High
• AVG Performance: 4K at 60 FPS
• Processor: Intel Core i7-11700 or AMD Ryzen 7 5700X
• Memory: 16GB RAM
• Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 or AMD Radeon RX 7900XT
• Storage: 150 GB SSD space
• OS: Windows 10 64-bit (version 1909 or higher)

According to the game’s PlayStation Blog post, Horizon Forbidden West’s PC specs cover almost any hardware, from very low to very high graphic presets. This also includes portable gaming devices, like the Steam Deck. While the highest preset produces the highest quality in graphics, the minimum is still excellent for those with less powerful PCs.

The specs come at the cost of 150 GB, though, so it’s best to clear some room for its substantial size. The Burning Shores DLC and downloadable content may require additional space, too. Anyone who purchases the Complete Edition earns exclusive outfits such as the Carja Behemoth Elite and Nora Thunder Elite. Plus, pre-purchases include the Blacktide Dye outfit and Sharpshot bow.

Despite the Horizon Forbidden West PC requirements mentioned, Nixxes and Guerrilla suggest tinkering with a few settings on your own. For this, go to the in-game menus to change the field of view, shadows, motion blur, and more.
