The infamous “Kill 5” Personal Order has returned to Helldivers 2, causing confusion for those who didn’t see it the first time around. However, we now know how to complete this objective, and thankfully, it aligns with our current Major Order.
The “Kill 5” Personal Order in Helldivers 2 requires you to kill 5 Automaton Hulk enemies, but the in-game text doesn’t give a specific enemy type or faction. This is a known bug that developer Arrowhead Game Studios has already acknowledged in recent patch notes for the game, and it just so happens that chasing the Personal Order will help all players smash the final few hours of the current Major Order.
Kill 5 Hulks, stay for victory over the bots
The last time the “Kill 5” Personal Order popped up, it threw the Helldivers 2 community a little because the Major Order at the time had us killing Terminids. Obviously, that’s not ideal when you have to head to the other side of the galaxy to collect the Medals you’re owed.
A quick look on the Helldivers 2 subreddit shows that most players who didn’t see this the first time are being shepherded by those of us who already know what to do. There are also those players who are poking fun at Game Master Joel for putting a known broken Personal Order back into the game.
Everyone seems fine with the fact that this Personal Order has returned, though, because it might give the community the push it needs to complete the current Major Order. At the time of writing, we’ve been fighting against the bots for almost a week, trying to secure five planets for managed democracy. We have one left to go, but things don’t look hopeful.
It’s gotten to the point that players are posting desperate memes in an effort to call in as many players as possible so that last week’s work isn’t for nothing. If we don’t complete the Major Order, the Automatons will likely take back a huge chunk of the galaxy.
While I’ve been playing, I’ve been regularly kicked from missions, which definitely hasn’t helped me spread democracy to the planets that need it. The first major update for Helldivers 2, Escalation of Freedom, should bring new systems that fix that, though. Had we had that system in place earlier, I think we’d have completed the Marjo Order by now and wouldn’t need “Kill 5” to entice us into destroying more Automatons.
