Developer Arrowhead Game Studios has fixed one of the most annoying issues impacting players in Helldivers 2 Patch 1.000.405: the infinite drop. This error has been plaguing fans for some time now, causing them to get stuck between missions and never actually spread managed democracy without a system restart.
The infinite drop glitch is a pretty simple one to understand, but it’s incredibly annoying. When you set up a mission in Helldivers 2, you must select your loadout and then ready up and wait for every other player in the group to do the same. Once you’re all ready, you ‘drop’ onto the target planet, which effectively loads you into the mission. However, the infinite drop glitch leaves you hanging in space, and you can’t get around it without restarting the device you’re playing on.
No more infinite drops for you
There isn’t much more to report for Helldivers 2 Patch 1.000.405 because it’s a patch specifically designed to prevent one issue. However. Arrowhead Game Studios has used it to outline issues it’s aware of and broadcast them to players to ensure everyone’s in the loop on what the developer is working on next.
One known issue that stands out to me here is, “Various issues to do with unintended Ballstics Shield behavior.” I’m hoping this doesn’t mean that the phenomenal stealth build you can craft in the game will soon be a thing of the past.
This would be a big shame because the build relies more on the knife from the Viper Commandos Warbond than it does on the ability to sneak up on enemies. It’s a little broken against Automaton enemies but feels fair against Terminids. With both factions, you’re fair game after the first hit, so it’s not as if it makes you completely invisible and able to do continuous damage.
The best-known issue that Arrowhead Game Studios seems determined to fix is, “Personal orders may not display correctly. (Kill 5.)” As we discovered recently, this Personal Order type is bugged but can still be completed. Obviously, the developer wants this fixed, but it’s quite fun to work with the community to figure out what it means and distract yourself from the Major Order for 10 minutes or so.
I wouldn’t expect to see a major update for Helldivers 2 until mid-August. This is because in Sweden, where the developer is located, most businesses work on a lighter schedule during the summer. However, the next major update will likely fix many issues, so players should prepare for something big.
