The best thing about this Heavy Rain concept art is that there are no disturbing character models with their alive-yet-so-very-dead facial expressions and animations. It’s also quite cool to look at.

I am getting pretty excited about Heavy Rain. I was a big fan of Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy in the US) and have been patiently waiting for this latest Quantic Dream title to finally surface. Looking at this art work seems to reveal a little more about the game itself, as it looks like some cutscenes are being drawn out here. I’m loving the sleazy look of some of the locations as well.

Heavy Rain is looking more and more like a game that is “dark and gritty” without trying to be dark and gritty. For most developers, dark grittiness simply means sparse lighting and a muscle-bound moron with a gatling gun. To Quantic Dream, it seems that it will actually mean something interesting.
