‘Tribute’ #1 in the UK, #3 globally

FreeStyle Games has come out with a list of the most-played songs in Guitar Hero Live over the holidays and I can’t be the only one who finds lists like this somewhat entertaining.
Between December 24 and January 3, the most popular on-demand tracks in the UK were:
- “Tribute” – Tenacious D

- “Sing” – Ed Sheeran
- “The Lazy Song” – Bruno Mars
- “All the Small Things” – Blink-182
- “I Want to Break Free” – Queen
- “Sex on Fire” – Kings of Leon
- “B.Y.O.B.” – System of a Down
- “Let Her Go” – Passenger

Globally, the top songs across all of Guitar Hero TV were:
- “I Gotsta Get Paid” – ZZ Top
- “Best Day of My Life” – American Authors
- “Tribute” – Tenacious D
- “Epic” – Faith No More
- “Rollin’ and Tumblin'” – The Gaslight Anthem
- “Jekyll and Hyde” – Five Finger Death Punch
- “Diamond Eyes” – Deftones
- “Break the Cycle” – Motionless in White
- “Tears Don’t Fall” – Bullet for my Valentine
- “Broken Generation” – Of Mice & Men
- “More Than A Feeling” – Boston
- “Stacy’s Mom” – Fountains of Wayne
- “Cult of Personality” – Living Colour
- “Eyes of a Stranger” – Queensrÿche
- “Buddy Holly” – Weezer
- “Cowboys from Hell” – Pantera
- “The Lazy Song” – Bruno Mars
- “Down with the Sickness” – Disturbed
- “Time To Pretend” – MGMT
- “Always with Me, Always with You” – Joe Satriani
A few random thoughts: first, I like how ZZ Top has more than one song about getting paid (there is also 1972’s “Just Got Paid”). Second, it warms my heart to know people are still discovering and loving “Cult of Personality.” What a great track! Lastly, I’m fairly sure Kyle does not own Guitar Hero Live, but I’m holding him personally accountable for “Stacy’s Mom” making the cut.
