Arc and Bandai team up again

Guilty Gear Strive is one of my most anticipated games of the year.

It’s not often that a fighting game reaches those kinds of heights for games writers; but having been loyal to the franchise for over 20 years now, I still maintain that Guilty Gear is one of the best, if not the best fighting game franchises at any given time in history. Strive looks like it’s going to scratch the same itch as Xrd, and look great while doing it.

Just this morning we got some new substantial news regarding its release, as Bandai Namco has announced that they are once again teaming up with Arc System Works (following Dragon Ball FighterZ), publishing the game in Europe and Asia (minus South Korea and Japan). They also have given us the latest release widow of “late 2020.” Arc System Work staple and Guilty Gear director Daisuke Ishiwatari notes that this whole thing came about due to a “chit-chat” with Harada-san (Tekken‘s boss).

For those who are interested, the beta is still coming very soon, kicking off on April 16 and running through April 19. Sol, Ky, Chipp, Axl, Potemkin, May and Faust will be playable, so you’ll get a little of every playstyle for the beta.
