Microsoft demagogue Aaron Greenberg has emphatically denied that the Xbox 360 will ever get a Web browser, despite being features on both the Wii and PS3. According to Greenberg, surfing the ‘net via your TV screen is an inferior experience, and one that doesn’t need to be on a console.

“We really believe that the web browsing experience on TV is a poor one, and the real magic is to take those web experiences and optimise them for the living room,” Greenberg tells Edge. “That’s what we did with Netflix. So, sure, you can go on the PS3 and go to Facebook and and try to navigate, but it’s an absolute nightmare.

“No disrespect, there’s things I love about the PS3, but that’s not one of them. We want the online experience to be fun and optimised for the living room, and we’ll continue to add more applications to get more richness”

Does anybody seriously use the browser on their PS3 and Wii? I mean, I guess it’s a harmless feature of the systems, but I can’t really see anybody crying if it had never been there. Perhaps I’m wrong. Are there fans of console browsing amongst us?
