At today’s annual developer conference, Google revealed its Nexus 7 tablet, which goes up against Amazon’s Kindle Fire and kind of winks at Apple’s iPad. The big news is that this 7-inch screen Android (running Jelly Bean) device is priced at only $199. It is available for order on Google Play right now, shipping near the middle of next month.
On the gaming side of things, the Nexus 7 uses Nvidia’s Tegra 3 processor for graphics muscle. New quad-core optimized games for this and other Tegra 3 devices were announced at Google I/O today, including Horn and Dead Trigger.

And while we’re on new games for this tablet, Gameloft also announced that 10 of their most popular titles have also been enhanced for the Nexus 7, with 8 of them available today. N.O.V.A. 3 : Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance, Asphalt 7: Heat, and Dungeon Hunter III are among the supported.
