Despite denying that us filthy gaijins would ever get our mitts on the Gold Nunchuk available on the Japanese Club Nintendo, Nintendo has finally relented. It’s in limited supply, but now you too can own a Gold Nunchuk for a scant 900 coins!

Wait, 900? But the Japanese one only costs 600, discounted to 400 if you had registered Skyward Sword. Maybe the different regional values are equivalent, but I wouldn’t put it past Nintendo to squeeze a little more change out of our pockets. I’d probably be better off spray painting my white one gold. At least then I’d be able to cover up the cord that Nintendo insisted on leaving unpainted.

But I do love the disclaimer at the bottom of the item page: “The gold controller will simply be gold in color and will not contain any actual precious metals.” Oh gee, really?

(Thanks, Mason!)
