Tony Ponce laid it out in his review, but to reiterate, Volgarr the Viking is worth your time if you’re down for a challenge. The 2D action game is half price in a 48-hour sale on Steam which started earlier this morning. At a discounted $5.99, this is an easy recommendation to make.
The only thing that held me back from playing Volgarr sooner than I did was its art style. It’s a bit ugly, particularly in screenshots. But in motion — and scaled properly — you grow accustomed to the look. The animation is actually quite good, for that matter. There’s also the whole “trying not to die” thing, which serves as a perfectly good distraction.
Rastan fans, you must get this.
