Kingdom Come: Deliverance seems like one of those games you can lose yourself in.

It’s an open-world RPG set in medieval Bohemia that’s striving for realism rather than spell-slinging. It’s been in development at Warhorse Studios for years and years, with a £1.1 million Kickstarter back in 2014. It’s ambitious in that potentially cool, potentially rough-around-the-edges sort of way. And, notably, it’s almost finished — the game launches February 13 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

It’s the perfect time to catch back up if, like me, you’ve lost track along the way.

Today’s video is a helpful 16-minute overview of our son-of-a-blacksmith protagonist Henry’s struggles in a 16-square-kilometer world that’s indifferent to him at best and actively hostile at worst.

For a look at how one of the main quests can potentially play out, head to the 12:12 mark.

I suspect I’d be rubbish at the hand-to-hand combat, but that’s what RPG speech skills are for.
