Subscription-based videogame rental service Gamefly is snaking its tendrils into the realm of digital PC gaming, unveiling plans for its own gaming download service.

GameFly will use its own digital client that offers a “a large and ever-growing collection of titles” for both PC and Mac. As well as a regular digital storefront, GameFly will also be kickstaring a rental service known as PC Unlimited Play, a subscription service that lets users download and play games as much as they like.

Users will be able to organize and share game libraries, and Unlimited Play subscribers can queue up their download rentals. There will also be a section for everybody, including non-subscribers, to pre-order brand new games and even buy used ones.

A closed beta is planned for September 8.
