With Golden Axe: Beast Rider hitting stores on October 17, Sega is ramping up the PR for its imminent monster-subjugating action game. Here’s a video which bigs up the series and seems intent on reassuring us that this new Golden Axe isn’t going to suck.

Readers don’t seem keen on Beast Rider, but I am still willing to give it a fair shake. Whatever our memories may have us believe, the original Golden Axe really wasn’t all that brilliant and doesn’t truly have this sacred legacy to be tarnished. If a competent and fun action game can come of the license, so be it, even if the Golden Axe name is totally being used to flog a few extra copies.
