The Final Fantasy XIII-2 soundtrack was easily my favorite of 2011. Featuring contributions by an extremely talented group of composers from Square Enix alongside an army of vocalists, the soundtrack was one of the best things about the game.

However, it would seem that this wasn’t enough for Square Enix. A new listing on VGMdb indicates that a new album is in the works titled Final Fantasy XIII-2 Original Soundtrack -Plus-. An album with a similar title was released for Final Fantasy XIII featuring prototype and alternate versions of songs from that game, but it appears as though the XIII-2 -Plus- album will contain music from the planned DLC among other things. Perhaps we’ll get the rapless “Invisible Invaders” that was featured in the international version of the game.

In any case, you can check out Square Enix’s official website dedicated to the album where you can hear a clip of a nifty trip-hop remix of “Noel’s Theme.” The album’s due out in Japan on May 30, 2012 for 2,100 Yen ($25 USD).

Were you a fan of Final Fantasy XIII-2’s diverse soundtrack, and are you digging this sample?
