The team behind Final Fantasy XIV is touring the world at the moment, making appearances at conventions in countries as far apart as Japan, Germany, and the US. On September 28, FFXIV will once again make an appearance at Tokyo Game Show.
At TGS 2024, FFXIV director and producer Naoki Yoshida will present the first Live Letter from the Producer since Dawntrail’s release, and we’ll get some sneak peeks of what’s to come from Patch 7.1.
The Live Letter will broadcast live exclusively on the Square Enix YouTube channel on September 28 at 10:50 p.m. PDT. For those on the East Coast, the stream airs on September 29 at 1:50 a.m. EDT. Unfortunately, there won’t be any English translation provided during the Live Letter, but presentation slides will be in both Japanese and English.
We already know, at least loosely, what we may be expecting from FFXIV 7.1. At previous conventions, and at the Chinese leg of Fan Festival, Naoki Yoshida discussed both Shade’s Triangle (the new large-scale battle content similar to Eureka and The Bozjan Southern Front) and Cosmic Exploration (content for crafters and gatherers, similar to Ishgardian Restoration) during panels and speeches. However, little information about either of these things has thus far been revealed outside of images and vague descriptions.
Shade’s Triangle and Cosmic Exploration are just two pieces of content on a long list of content that players know is on the way, but are unsure of the exact time frame for their additions:
- More Arcadion raids
- Futures Rewritten, Dawntrail’s first Ultimate Raid
- Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures
- Further MSQ and progress with the story of Dawntrail
These are just a few things that players are itching to hear more about during the first of the 7.1 Live Letters. Whatever is revealed, one thing that I’m really hoping for is a release date so I can carve out some time to play all the new content coming our way.
