As with Shadowbringers and Endwalker before it, Dawntrail brings a whole new round of Shared FATEs to Final Fantasy XIV. If you’re after some of the more elusive minions, this is how you get them, and the grind has got a little bit easier.
Urqopacha is the first area on the Shared FATEs list, so you’re likely to head here first once you begin the FATE grind. It’s also where you’re going to need to get your Shared FATEs done if you want the Alpaca Cria minion.
How do Shared FATEs work in Dawntrail?
To complete Rank 3 of Shared FATEs in either Shadowbringers or Endwalker, you would have needed to complete a total of 86 FATEs in each area. Dawntrail has reduced this number by 20, which may not seem significant, but the difference is definitely welcome.
Here’s how many FATEs you’ll need to complete in order to increase your Shared FATEs Rank:
- Rank 1 (6 FATEs)
- Rank 2 (20 FATEs)
- Rank 3 (40 FATEs)
After you’ve completed the final 40 FATEs, the local Gemstone Trader will expand their wares to include new items, including sought after items such as minions and new furniture.
Where is the Bi-color Gemstone Trader in Urqopacha?
The Gemstone Trader in Urqopacha is located close to the Wachunpelo Aetheryte. You’ll find them at the main entrance to the settlement.
Once you complete Rank 3 by completing the necessary 66 FATEs, you’ll be able to purchase multiple items for Bi-color Gemstones. You earn a minimum of 16 Bi-color Gemstones per FATE you complete with at least a Silver rating, so they soon begin to pile up.
Here’s everything that’s sold by the Gemstone Trader in Urqopacha, along with what Rank you need to be to unlock them:
Item | Cost (Gemstones) | Rank unlock |
Silver Lobo Hide | 3 | 1 |
Megamaguey Pineapple | 3 | 1 |
Alpaca Fillet | 3 | 1 |
Urqopacha Riding Map | 90 | 2 |
Pelupelu Partition | 150 | 2 |
Alpaca Cria | 700 | 3 |
Windswept Echoes Orchestrion Roll | 450 | 3 |
