FFXIV Callback Campaign: Why haven’t you received an email yet?

I wrote you, but you still ain’t callin’

The Final Fantasy XIV Callback Campaign is back, giving Warriors of Light another way to reel friends back into the MMORPG. And, as is notoriously the case with anything Square Enix account-related, some FFXIV players are confused by the event or unable to find their email.

If that’s the case for you, I’ll explain a few possibilities behind why you haven’t received your FFXIV Callback Campaign email just yet, along with a quick breakdown of how the whole thing works.

Emails are sent out in batches

If you or a friend are still searching for your Callback Campaign email, then it could simply be that Square Enix hasn’t sent out the latest batch of emails yet. The free period started last Wednesday, November 8, 2023, and runs until December 14, but FFXIV emails don’t go out immediately.

According to the Square Enix EU support FAQ, Callback Campaign emails “are sent out periodically throughout the week, so you may need to wait a few days until an invitation is sent to you.”

Meanwhile, the NA FFXIV official site notes, “invitation emails will be sent once per day.” So, if you just invited a friend hours ago, they may not see anything for a while.

Double-check your Square Enix account

This one is a pain, but double-check to make sure your email address registered in the Mog Station is also your Square Enix Members account email. I had this problem last year, and in order to get a Fan Fest invite, I had to contact Square Enix support to merge the accounts and opt me into marketing emails. Until then, I couldn’t receive promotions associated with my FFXIV account.

To check your Square Enix Members email:

  • Visit the official Square Enix site
  • Select the login icon in the top right
  • Once logged in, click “My Account” from the dropdown
  • Select “Change Your Settings”
  • Scroll down to “Email Preferences”
  • Check your address and marketing email subscription status

You can also check your Linked Account status from the settings menu, which should show your FFXIV ID associated with the character trying to participate. That same Square Enix FAQ also mentions double checking your account email, noting:

“Furthermore invitation emails are sent to the email address registered on the Square Enix account, so please be sure to check the inbox of the email account registered to your account. […] If you refused the invitation email or opted out by mistake, but wish to receive invitation emails in the future, then you can contact us at the SupportĀ Centre to have the settings changed.”

What are the Callback Campaign requirements?

If you’re trying to invite a player who doesn’t fit the Callback Campaign requirements, they won’t receive an email regardless of any invites. Before you go troubleshooting, make sure they fit the bill.

  • To receive the Callback email, players must have:
    • been inactive for 90 days or more
      • This includes the free trial
    • already purchased and registered their FFXIV service account

You should receive an regardless of whether or not the player you’ve invited meets the requirements, updating you on the status of your request. Hopefully, this helps ease your lost email anxieties, and good luck getting those Gold Chocobo Feathers.
