Europa Universalis IV is but a mere month away from release, but Paradox isn’t finished with filling you in on the game’s many nuances. In the latest dev diary, Project Lead Thomas Johansson describes the complex religious mechanics that play a significant role in the grand strategy title.

The popularity of Protestantism almost led to a civil war when I checked out the title earlier in the summer, with Protestants and Catholics taking up arms against each other, drowning my lovely nation in blood — so it’s certainly not something that just exists in the background.
