If you’re anything like me, the holiday season can wear you down. All of the shopping is absolutely exhausting (unless you’re smart and do it online, which I am not) and all the while you are being bombarded by the same Christmas carols over and over again. They’re great songs, but even “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” (the greatest carol ever) can get tired after two months.
That’s why I’m so excited about this story. Over the weekend, an album of Christmas carols intended for gamers released. 8-Bit Jesus: Classic Christmas Songs in the Style of Classic NES Games is a exactly what it sounds like. It’s 18 tracks of holiday cheer, replete with memorable ghosts of gaming’s past which would make any grinch’s heart grow three sizes. Best of all, it’s absolutely free.
The artist, Doctor Octoroc, is accepting donations. For a measly $15, he will send out a physical CD with the badass cover art shown above. He’ll even ship to good little boys and girls all over the world at no additional cost.
Seriously, go download it right now. If you have any affection at all for Christmas and retrogaming, I promise it will bring a smile to your face. Not sold yet? Venture past the jump for the full track list
