Koei Tecmo has debuted a new trailer for the upcoming Fire Emblem Warriors, one that reveals that Elise from Fire Emblem Fates will be a playable character in the upcoming game.

Much like Lissa from Fire Emblem Awakening, since Elise doesn’t have an offensive weapon for her base class, she uses one from a later promotion. In this case, she’ll be using a tome, which brings her rather close to her older brother Leo, who was previously confirmed and also uses a tome while mounted. What mechanics the two will have to seperate each other besides animations remains to be seen.

I can’t say I didn’t really see Elise coming. Based on recent interviews about the roster selection, the fact Elise was one of the first characters from Fates to be merchandised, and where she sat in popularity polls, she was pretty much a guarantee. Kind of wish it was Azura or Kaze instead, since there’s no foot-based lance user or a ninja at the moment.

Given that the North American special edition has 25 character art cards, and assuming both Robins have their own, that means there are seven characters left to be revealed. Whether they are heroes or villains, it’s clear we’re probably getting at least one reveal each week before the game releases in Japan on September 28.
