Believe it or note, three iterations and 643 expansion packs in, Electronic Art’s The Sims franchise is still holding on strong. According to EA, The Sims 3 was the best selling PC game worldwide in 2009.
In 2000, the original The Sims was the best selling PC game worldwide. Ditto for 2001, 2002, and 2003. Then, in 2004, that title went to The Sims 2. So basically what I’m trying to say here is that The Sims is still popular. True story: I recently purchase a PC capable of gaming, and the first game I purchase was The Sims 3. Am I “part of the problem”?
EA hopes to conquer consoles with The Sims goodness in 2010, as it was recently revealed that the franchise would be coming to other platforms. Halo: Reach, watch your back.
